The new Cicada Audio CMB8.S4 “MidBass” drivers are a great solution for Harley baggers and other motorcycles striving for the ultimate in midbass response . These are NOT an easy fit .  These are designed for FULL custom builds.  Fully custom install utilizing Jefe or Nagy bag rings.

Cicada Audio was started to develop and sell product… SPECIFICALLY for Harley-Davidsons and other motorcycles. Even though you’ve probably never heard of Cicada Audio…. our president and head engineer, Larry. has been designing 12V audio for over 30 years.  He has 5 design and engineering awards and 2 design patents.  He’s developed 1,000’s of products in that time many gaining “cult” status. He REALLY knows 12-volt audio.  He saw that there was a real need for some new thinking and new direction in audio.  Specifically, “motorcycle audio”.  We, at Cicada Audio, don’t do “car” audio, we don’t do “marine” audio, we don’t do “powersport” audio.  We ONLY do Harley Davidson™ audio …PERIOD!@!!

These drivers represent the next wave of product from Cicada Audio.  These drivers handle more power, are louder, play lower, with more authority and sound better right out of the box than any other pro audio type speaker for Harley applications. We’ve built these speakers with the best materials we can use and keep sensitivity and sound quality as high as possible. With 2.5-inch/ 6 Layer 4 ohm voice coils on the MidBass driver and a “Trick” dustcap.  And Carbon Fiber cones!   We’ve built in extreme sensitivity for unreal output and High power/High heat dissipation.   These are NOT for the squeamish, AND they are NOT lightweight.   These speakers are way beyond all the competition.

With our cone materials, surrounds and finishes have ALL passed extensive UV exposure testing to ensure these speakers will look and sound amazing for years to come. This component Pro style MidBass design offers amazing efficiency and clarity.  Pair these with our Ring Radiator Horn Mid Range tweeter (RR3T) and you have a winning combination.

APPLICATIONS/CUSTOM FITMENT:

Utilizing these drivers is TOTAL custom fabrication. And power hungry too!! They are rated at 500WRMS each (typically used in pairs – left and right bag) But can handle 1000 WRMS . 

So the amplifiers of choice would be a CICADA AUDIO BDA2000.4D – 4 CH amplifier bridged turning it into a BIG 2 channel (over 1,000WRMS pre Bridged Output using one bridged channel per midbass driver) Or a BDA1600.1D Mono Block driving a pair of these brutes parallel (2 ohm 1600 watts) or IN SINBLE!  Both are viable and great options for the truly crazy out there (and yes you can get crazier…BUT!!!!) 

REMEMBER…GOING THIS ROUTE MEANS ADDITIONAL LITHIUM BATTERIES (like a UNLIMITED NANO for example!) Power means current draw!  For every 1,000 watts RMS you need 116A of current.  You do the math!!!!
